FOOD BASKET MINISTRY

Our parish Christmas Food Basket Ministry is now underway, and we once again ask for your participation! Signup to participate using the Registration button on this page.

Our ministry mission is to provide food for Christmas Day meals to less fortunate families. We hope your generous spirit will help us once again meet the target of 200 recipient families, all identified by social programs supporting Hartford, West Hartford and Bloomfield families in need. There are many ways to participate…you can donate a food basket for a family, contribute “turkey money” to help buy a gift card that is included in the baskets, volunteer during our drop off or delivery days, or any combination of these. We are in the process of receiving details of the recipient families from our social service agencies. After Thanksgiving, once we have all the information on these families, we will provide you with details on the family you are matched with, including the number of family members and children’s ages, to assist in your shopping choices.

If you have never participated in this program, we hope you’ll join us this Christmas season! We provide you with “shopping list suggestions” for the food basket for Christmas meal items (though you are welcome to make your own selections) which you drop at the Parish Hall the weekend before Christmas and is delivered to the family by our parish
