Is God calling you?
If you or someone you know is interested in the possibility of becoming Catholic Please contact Gigi Frailey (860) 561-4235 or gfrailey@spcwh.org for a conversation regarding the process that will guide a search to a journey of faith.
All are welcome in our St. Peter Claver Parish community.
It is a place of faith, hope, and love, where the encounter with God is a continuing summons to conversion and newness of life.
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a process where adults ask questions about the Catholic faith. This process is for anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic faith , about becoming Catholic, and for individuals who never completed the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation.
RCIA will now be called OCIA Rite vs. Order
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops have changed the name of the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) to Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA). RCIA adult faith formation leaders have been guiding candidates and catechumens through several rites within the RCIA process of becoming Catholic, from the ‘Signing of the Book of the Elect’ to ‘Reconciliation.’ The name change is intended to better reflect that an “order” is a collection of all the “rites” involved in the process.
